Wired Connections That Carry the Load

Wi-Fi is convenient, but the equipment that matters most still performs best on a cable. Structured data cabling gives computers, phones, access points, cameras and televisions a fast, stable connection, and it takes pressure off the wireless network for everything else.

Simply Electrical Contractors installs Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a cabling from a central cabinet or patch panel to outlets wherever they are needed. Routes are planned to keep data cables clear of power circuits, containment is used to keep the installation tidy, and every point is labelled at both ends.

Each link is tested after termination, so faults are found before the equipment is plugged in. The same visit can cover the cable runs for wireless access points, cameras and door entry, which keeps disruption to a minimum.

What to expect

A Clear Route From Enquiry to Completion

Details vary by property and service, but the process is built around assessment, explanation and appropriate testing.

01

Plan the Layout

Agree where outlets are needed, where the cabinet will sit and how cables will be routed.

02

Install and Terminate

Cables are run in suitable containment and terminated at the outlets and the patch panel.

03

Test and Label

Every link is tested and labelled, and the results are handed over.

Common questions

Useful Information Before You Enquire

For advice about a specific property, contact the team with the postcode and job details.

01Which cable category do I need?

Cat6 suits most homes and offices. Cat6a is worth considering for longer runs at higher speeds, or where the cabling is expected to stay in place for many years.

02Can you add points to an existing network?

Yes. New outlets can be run back to the existing cabinet or switch, provided there is capacity and a workable route.

03Will the work disrupt the office?

Cabling can be installed out of hours or in stages. Routes above ceilings and in existing trunking are used where possible to limit disruption.

04Do you supply the network equipment?

The cabling, outlets, patch panels and cabinets are supplied and installed. Switches and routers can be discussed if you need them.
